About FingertipFlow
FingertipFlow is a free, minimalist typing trainer built and maintained by thedevflo, an independent developer. It exists because most typing sites bury a two-minute test under pop-ups, sign-up walls and autoplay video.
What the site does
You get timed typing tests in 15, 30, 60 and 120-second formats, live WPM and accuracy, a per-second speed graph, weak-key detection that feeds harder characters back into your next test, a notes panel for saving results or practice text, a history view with streaks and personal bests, ten colour themes, and an optional Spotify focus player. Everything runs in the browser.
How results are calculated
Net WPM is correct characters divided by five, divided by minutes elapsed — the same standard used by typing certification tests. Raw WPM counts every keystroke including errors. Accuracy is correct characters over total characters typed. Nothing is normalised or padded, so your number here is directly comparable with other standards-based tests.
Your data
Test history, notes and settings are stored in your browser's local storage. There is no account, no server-side database of your results, and nothing is sold. Clearing your browser data clears your history, so use the download buttons to export anything you want to keep. See the privacy policy for details on cookies and advertising.
Editorial approach
The guides on this site — the practice guide, lessons, speed techniques and speed benchmarks — are written from hands-on experience building and using the trainer, and revised as the tool changes. Where figures are typical ranges rather than published statistics, we say so.
